About ACCA Applied Skills

  • Entry requirements

If you have completed the Applied Knowledge level, the final level of AAT or the Foundation Diploma, you will start studying at the Applied Skills Level.

You should check whether you’re eligible on the ACCA website launch and apply for any exemptions before you start studying.

  • ACCA Applied Skills syllabus

Applied Skills builds on your existing knowledge and understanding and gives you more practical finance skills. By the end of the course you will have covered:

    • Corporate and Business Law England (LW – formerly F4)
    • Performance Management (PM – formerly F5)
    • Taxation (TX – formerly F6)
    • Financial Reporting (FR – formerly F7)
    • Audit and Assurance (AA – formerly F8)
    • Financial Management (FM – formerly F9)
  • How is this course assessed?

All of these exams are computer-based assessments and you will need a score of 50% or more to pass.

The Law exam is 2 hours long.

All other exams at this level are 3 hours long (with 10 minutes before to read through the exam instructions).

To finish this level you will also have to complete the Ethics and Professional Skills module. This is done via your MyACCA account. It consists of individual modules on various ethical principles and professional skills, followed by a section on how these will apply to the Strategic Professional exams if you choose to continue to this level. And finally, a short assessment, which you do on your computer in your own time, to check you have understood the principles covered in the module.

    Getting your results

Upon completion of the Law exam, your provisional result is displayed on the screen. Your result will be transferred to your myACCA records within 72 hours. All other results are provided by ACCA and you can access them online on a fixed results date.

    Grading

To pass your exams you will need to achieve 50% or more.

    Resits

If you are unlucky in your first attempt, the ACCA has specific resources aimed at directing students on where to focus their studies to get back on track in the study resources section, and you can book your exam with MyACCA as soon as you are ready to give it another go.

    ACCA approved venues

You can book your exams via ACCA. If you want to book an on-demand computer based exam you will need to choose from a list of approved venues launch.
